The much awaited First Academic Meet of Bangalore Ophthalmic Society happened on Sunday, 24th June 2012 at the Nimhans Convention Centre. This was a welcome event satisfying the mid year academic hunger of the Ophthalmologists of Bangalore and Karnataka. About 350 Ophthalmologists from all the South Indian States attended the meeting.

The meet was Inaugurated by Chief of RP Centre, AIIMS Dr. Rajvardhan Azad and KOS President Dr. RamMohan Rao. It provided the much needed updates on various topics in Ophthalmology covering over 30 hours of academic deliberations. Lectures were delivered by National Faculty – Dr. Rajvardhan Azad, Dr. Prema Padmanabhan, Dr. Tanuj Dada, Dr. Nirmal Fredrick, Dr. Lalit Verma, Dr. Pradeep Sharma, Dr. Arup Chakraborthy, Dr. Ravindra Mohan and healthily interspersed with Panel Discussions on Current topics and Practice Patterns.

The Summit closed with promise of much more in the years to come.
